Picture Me In Vegas -- Once the Best, Always the Best.

Anonymous - Karen's passing.
Saturday, October 7th 2006 5:42pm

For several days Karen became a part of our family. The pictures of our daughters wedding were beautiful capturing the true spirit of that wonderful day.

We will miss such a sweet, spunky lady. We were grateful and lucky to have met her.

I was just coming back onto Karen's website after a while because I loved to come back and look at the new pictures she had done. Just as so many other people, I was completely shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. She took my wedding pictures in August 2003 and my husband and I were completely amazed with them. We've both felt we never came out good in photographs so I didn't have high hopes for my wedding pics but Karen gave me an unbelievable set of pictures to remember my wedding and I will be forever greatful. Because of her great work, I actually looked to forward to having her take just plain clothes pictures of my husband and I the next time we went out to Vegas. She was a great woman and extreamly talented and my thoughts and prayers go to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

I was linked to this site months ago when I was researching photographers for my upcoming wedding in Las Vegas. I was immediately drawn to the variety of photos and the obvious joy captured. I'm so sorry ...

I will pray for you and your Mother at this time of sorrow. Did you think about Karen being with your baby right now? I bet she's giving the low down about your wonderful family, o boy, this child will be ready. Aunt Karen will send him or her on there way, for there turn on earth. God bless you, love, a friend of Karen's

We learned of Karen's passing this morning when we passed along the website address to a friend planning her Vegas wedding, what a shock! Karen photographed our wedding in November of 2005, and it was a really wonderful experience. After knowing her for only three hours I can truly say she was an amazing person. The experience hadn't been going as planned, but when Karen breezed into the chapel she simply made everything right. In a town where the wedding industry is so huge that it means very few of the associated vendors really care about your experience, Karen was simply a gem. I was so touched by the fact that she really, truly cared what my memories of that evening would be. Beyond the gorgeous pictures we have of the event, I will always remember how thoughtful she was to all of us, and how much she cared that I would be happy on my special day. I hope it's some small comfort to her family and friends that so many people all over the world recognize and remember what a very special person Karen was.

I just want to pass my love and sympathy to Karen's family. I haven't logged onto Karen's site for ages as my computer had been 'unwell'. I really can't believe it. Karen took our wedding photos on September 10 2004 and she just made our day perfect. The photos were gorgeous, all of them, and she was just fantastic. We now have a one year old daughter and I had sent photos to Karen. She really was a lovely warm person. My thoughts go out to all her family.

My beloved Sister. It's still not real. I hope you know how much Mom and I miss you. It hurts when it hits us, everyday things we do. Times I want to call, Times I need your advice, watching for your screen name to come on my buddy list. Wanting to tell you about milestones in my pregnancy, wanting to share with you, telling you about plans for the baby. Looking forward to the Baby Shower you were planning to throw for me in October. Remembering the awful morning you passed away, the tears from our brother as he told me and the shock and denial I had. The anger I had, the part of my heart that was torn out, the feeling of losing my only sister, losing one of my best friends. The pain that shows in Mom's eyes, even on good days. The look of despair when she's having a bad day. The Love that flows with every look and touch from Mom, knowing she wants to share it with YOU. We find comfort knowing you are with Dad and we understand you were needed for an even greater purpose with God. Still, it wasnt in the plans Sis. It doesnt seem fair. It feels so wrong. It hurts so bad. You taught me so many lessons in life, you were always such an example for all of us. We fought like sisters do, but we always knew, always shared, always made sure to tell each other "Love you MORE". How many times did you give so much for us, making sure the kids had fun at Lagoon, making sure we had at least one wonderful family dinner each time you came home. I miss the huge hug you had for each of us when you made it home. I miss seeing your truck in Moms driveway. You shared so much, you gave so much. Your words: How can you put a price on making memories between Cousins? Elder Nolden spending time with the Famous Five. These are all memories my Son will remember about his Aunt Karen, for the rest of his life. Please know we love you so much, the SIZ love you, family, friends, people from the ward when we were little. Did you see the hundreds and hundreds of people that came to pay their last respects? I hope you saw the "Russ" Moochie Kitty I gave you and Mom and Liz and Franzi. God be with you 'till we meet again Sis. I LOVE YOU MORE!!!!! Carrot-Pea

We were shocked and extremely saddened to learn of Karen's passing. We had the priviledge of having Karen take our wedding photo's on July 24th 2006. As we knew it would, Karen's skill and vision with the camera completely captured the love, joy and excitement we felt on our wedding day. She truly made our day so very special. We are so pleased to have had a couple of photo's taken with Karen which we will treasure always. Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time. God bless you all.

We were incredibly saddened to hear of Karen's passing. She was a credit to her community and her profession. More than three years after our wedding, I still firmly believe that hiring Karen was the best wedding decision I made. She was wonderful, caring, funny and just a pleasure to be around. Our thoughts are with her family.

I just logged on to see if she had updated the site with any new pictures and just learned what happened. I had dreamed of using her at my wedding one day. I loved her pictures and her site. She showed real brides and not just models. I was so impresses with how she did things.

It sounds like she was a wonderful person. It is a great loss to all.

I am so sad for Karen's family and those beautiful children she has left behind. Karen took our wedding photos on April 3rd 2004 and I come to her site on and off because I love her pictures. What a terrible shock. Karen made us feel like royalty on our wedding day and I will forever be grateful for her beautiful work and wonderful personality. I loved every one of our 200+ photos and was looking forward to calling her again someday for a milestone anniversary and or vow renewal. I will especially cherish the picture where she handed her very expensive camera over to my cousin to take our photo together. She was so much fun. So perfect..."Picture me in Paradise". She definatley earned "Paradise".

My good friend, Lisa Hutchins, just informed me of Karen's passing. My heart goes out to her family. I adored working with Karen at Lisa's wedding earlier this year. She was a lot of fun to work with and made the day wonderful. I'll always have fond memories of her making everyone feel at ease when our photos were taking. Fond memories of her having a good time at the reception. My thoughts and prayers go out to Karen's family.

We had booked Karen to take our wedding pictures for May 2007, and I was visiting the site to show a friend how amazing previous wedding pictures were - I am very shocked & sad to learn of the news, especially as I spoke to Karen by phone only a couple of weeks prior to her death, and have had numerous email conversations with her.

Thoughts & sympathy to her friends & family,

My good friend Lisa Hutchins just informed me of the sad news. My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Karen at Lisa's wedding in January '06. She had us all at ease and laughing before the ceremony and at the reception, it was so hard to take serious pictures with us laughing so much. She captured some great moments with her camera, but left way more behind with her her wonderful spirit. She will be missed by so many of us that she's touched.
All our sympathies,

I was in shock today when I learned about Karen's passing. She was a wonderful person, and once you met her, you felt as if you had known her your whole life. She brought such happiness to us on such an important day, and we will never forget her. Our sympathy goes out to Karen's family at this deeply hard time. May you always be blessed by wonderful thoughts of her. I know we will have nothing but wonderful and happy memories of her.

Take care,

I have learnt of Karen's death today and both my Husband and I are deeply shocked and upset by this terrible news.

Karen photographed our wedding last year on June 2nd. We and 9 of our guests took the 1.5hr photo tour and we had such a good time with Karen. She immediately put us at ease and made all our guests laugh with her sharp, witty comments and easy going manner. She nicknamed my dad 'limpy' as he had hurt his foot the day before and couldn't walk properly.

Our wedding photographs were wonderful. They are a fabulous reminder of what a great day we had and are much cherished.

Our thoughts at this time go out to her family and friends. Please take care.

Hello Mike:

I cannot tell you how sorry we are to hear this news, please pass on our deepest sympathies to Karen's family. I myself had numerous email conversations with Karen and was immediately drawn to her open, honest and friendly manner. At first we only wanted a couple of pictures at the Las Vegas sign however Karen photographed my friend on her photo tour in May last year and she could not express how wonderful Karen was.
Kind regards

I came to Karen's website to spend a few moments thinking of her, and remembering what she meant to me. The shock of her passing has been hard to swallow, and reading other messages left... I am certainly not alone. I was fortunate to work closely with Karen for many years at my photo studio, and I can tell you that she was a woman filled with passion, and a pure desire to create the best photographs possible, and in the process, treat her customers like family members. That is not a learned talent, rather a gift from God, and a gift that she shared with so many of her friends and customers.

I will remember Karen as a devoted wife, a friend to many, and an amazing photographer who touched so many people, in so many ways.

My heart goes out to Karen's family. She will be dearly missed by so many people, and

God Bless.

I am so saddened and shocked to hear of Karen's passing. I didn't know her because of wedding pictures. I was one of her foster children's teacher in first grade. I talked with Karen many times throughout the time I taught her child and I grew to know how dedicated she was. She was a very caring and thoughtful person and always willing to do whatever needed to be done. It has bothered me all day today since I learned of this terrible news. She is in my thoughts and prayers as well as her family. My best wishes to all of the people who love and miss her.

Karen truly made my wedding day in September 2003 amazing for me. She made having our picture taken - something my husband & I were NOT real keen on - fun and light-hearted. She was funny and kind and smart and quick-witted.

Karen had been in a boating accident just a few days before my wedding. I will never forget how overwhelmed with gratitude I was when I learned this. She had hurt her back & so very easily could have cancelled out on shooting my wedding and photo-tour. Many others would have. But not Karen. She said she wouldn't have dreamed of cancelling out on me & ruining my wedding. I cannot begin to tell you how much that meant to me.

Karen was a kind, amazing, loving and generous person who truly cared about each and every bride and groom she worked with. She made us all laugh and laughed right along with us.

My condolensces to her family and friends. I am so honored to have gotten to share in just a brief moment of her light.

Words can't even express how sad I am to hear of Karen's passing.

From the time I booked her until long after my wedding she never stopped offering to help. Karen helped make my day special. She wasn't just a photographer but a person who truly cared about making your wedding the best.

At my reception she handed her camera to the waiter and said to me.. I'm doing something I normally don't do, have a pic taken of me. I have the picture of the two of us and will cherish it always.

My prayers go out to her family and everyone that knew her. She truly was an angel and will remain in our hearts forever.

Karen was a wonderful person and one that will be missed deeply. We were blessed to have Karen in our lives and photograph important moments in our life. She enjoyed each year doing our family portraits as she watched the boys go from young children to teenagers and young men. It will be hard to have our next set of family portraits done this week without Karen.

Our prayers and condolences go out to Frank and the children. Karen is in a beautiful place and will be remembered fondly.

Karen thanks so much for everything.

Words cannot explain how thrilled we are with our wedding pictures. She made my husband and I feel like King and Queen for the evening and our daughter felt like a Princess. Our family absolutely loved Karen’s, charm, personality, sense of humour and photography skills. She made everything very relaxed and natural. Since we were from out of town she even had our photos ready before we left (super fast & excellent quality). I remember the first time I looked through the album of proofs; it brought tears of happiness to my eyes. Karen had captured so many beautiful memories that we will cherish the rest of our lives, we could not be happier. Our limo driver was also fantastic, he was always at the right place at the right time. We highly recommend Karen and PMIV to anyone and everyone. We hope to return to Vegas to renew our vows on our anniversary and we will definitely be calling Karen for another photo tour. Thanks again Karen, you’re the BEST!

Karen made our wedding! She met us at the Las Vegas sign and then arranged for the 12-person limo to take our group to other hotels to get more pictures. The pics were so fun and definitely something everyone will remember. Karen was so professional and had a great attitude the whole time. She kept the group going and we got a lot of great pictures done. Her prices beat everyone else I looked at. Everything was done in a timely manner and she communicated with us every step of the way. I would definitely use Karen again in a heartbeat! Thanks!

Karen is so professional and really wonderful about communication to the smallest of details you are thoroughly covered.
We live in Chicago and she helped us plan every last detail of our renewal for our 15th wedding anniversary complete with a perfect photo tour and wedding renewal (complete with Jesse Garon as Elvis) at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. It was so much fun and everything was just perfect. We had the time of our lives and everything went smootly and everyone was wonderful, from Karen and Jesse to the limo driver. And the ride back to our hotel in the pink caddy with Elvis at the wheel just as the neon strip signs were coming to life will never be forgotten! This is was the wedding we always wanted to have and we topped off our night with dinner at Alize' at the top of the Palms hotel/casino and the view is amazing as well as the service and food made the end to a perfect day!
We were so lucky to have found such a sweetheart in Karen and she saw to every last detail and made our day so special and we felt so cared for and would do it again and recommend it to anyone and everyone. For great pictures and a wonderful experience put yourselves in Karen's capable and caring hands, she won't disappoint you.

I would like to say "Thank You Karen" for such a wonderful time!

With that being said, if you can not have Karen on the wedding date you have chosen because she is booked, you may need to change the date! You will surely be glad that you did. I was fortunate that Karen was available for the date my husband & I had chosen, but I would have changed it in a heartbeat. I had looked at other couples pictures for hours on end on this website up until the day we left for Vegas. I am so glad I was able to have Karen as our photograher to capture all our precious memories that we will look back on, for years to come! I do not think I could have been any happier with any other photographer.

Karen is so personable and very energetic. I felt like I was a QUEEN because of this girl; she was always checking on me (hair, dress, making sure I was warm, etc). When we were at the Luxor we had a crowd of about 30 people watching as we had our pictures taken, and Karen had them all applaud after we were done. I LOVED HER!! Karen is absolutely amazing.

Karen will go the "extra mile" to make these photographs spectacular! We had Karen take our photograps at a beautiful chapel; A SPECIAL MEMORY (which she recommended) and for the 2.5 hour photo tour. We had Karen all to ourselves for 3 1/2 hours, and it was ALL well worth it. The limo driver was polite & courteous as well. In a business aspect, these two are a perfect pair!!

Karen you really did capture some wonderful photographs, especially since my husband & I are the first ones to hide when a camera is around. Tons of X's & O's to you on a job well done!!

If anyone wants specific examples, please feel free to e-mail, this girl is amazing and you will "be without" if you choose anyone else!

We got married Nov. 28, 2005, at the Luxor. Karen made everything so easy. She is a hoot. We had a blast with her. She made sure everything was perfect for us. The pics, oh my, they are awesome. I sit and look at them and smile. She caught everything we were feeling that day. LOVE. She even got Carrot Top to pose with us, on his way in. And the pics of us with Elvis...we just loved. Karen made us feel like celebrities. It was all about us and what made us happy. Oh, and Karen, Randy keeps that button buttoned all the time now...hahaha. It's been just over two months since Karen took our wedding pictures and we couldn't be happier with the results. We started out very nervous (it was our wedding after all!), but Karen put us both at ease and helped us to just relax and enjoy the day. She found out a little bit about who we are so that she could take the pictures we'd like the best. And the pictures turned out wonderfully. She really captured my husband and I at our best.

We had a fantastic wedding day in Vegas and Karen was part of the reason. Thanks Karen!

We both hate having our picture taken, but heading to Las Vegas from NZ (woohoo!) meant the family we left behind wanted photos! We found Karen through the internet and were blown away by the testimonials (seriously, can one person be so great?) After meeting Karen that we knew instantly that the testimonials are all understatements! Karen was professional, fun, and (crazy as it sounds) like an instant part of our family. We felt instantly relaxed and relentlessly taken care of. Our overwhelming memories of our wedding will be the fun we had having our pictures taken. Her relationships in the city made us feel completely at home and we loved her tricks and tips! We were incredibly impressed at the speed and accuracy of her work – every moment was used to best advantage, in the unfamiliar heat we were dreading hours of posing. But between speedy shoots with precision direction from her, and being whisked between locations in the cherry red limo, we barely broke a sweat! Karen – thank you for our kick-ass wedding photos. Karen is a star, I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!

Both my husband and I are really camera shy but Karen puts you at ease, and she also gives you some direction so you know how to stand, where to look etc. We did one of the photo tours (I think it was 1.5 hours), this is a great way of getting your picture taken in various Vegas spots, including the Welcome to Vegas sign, which makes for great wedding photos to show the folks back home!

The photos Karen took were stunning, we were amazed, and absolutely love them. They are a wonderful momento of a very happy day for us.

Our family and friends (who weren’t with us in Vegas) loved them too. I was wearing a 1950s vintage style outfit and Karen directed us to pose in some very ‘50s’ poses. When I showed the photos to friends at home lots of them remarked that some of the photos looked like Vogue covers from the 1950s. Now believe me I do not look like a Vogue model in normal life, so that must be a recommendation for Karen!

I found Karen via the internet and made the booking over the web. Karen responded quickly to all my emails and she met as arranged at the Chapel. She also printed and delivered the photos to us the following evening, as we were leaving Vegas early the next day.

I'm sure you won't regret using Karen - she is fabulous.

We booked from the UK, Karen for wedding photos and a photo tour on 29th July 05. It was amazing, Karens friendly manner relaxes and you definately have fun! Karen took some pre-bridals and even helped with my dress, nothing was too much for her. There were 8 of us and everyone was praising Karen. The pictures are fab - it is so hard to choose a favourite.

We were married on July 6th and hired Karen for the 1.5 hour photo tour. My husband and I had so much fun getting our pictures taken and riding around in the Limo with our wedding party. The photos were so amazing. When I first looked at them I cried because I was so happy to have so many pictures that turned out perfect. I usually don't take the greatest pictures. The only bad thing is trying to decide which one's to blow-up since we love them all!! People can't beleive the quality of the pictures and the eye that Karen has.

Thanks again, Karen, for giving us beautiful memories and most of all for making getting our picture taken FUN!!!

My husband and I did the 'long' photo tour with Karen on June 3rd. I'm not a big fan of being photographed, so prior to the tour, two and a half hours of photos seemed like an eternity to me.

The time went by so fast we couldn't believe it. It was so hot that day, but the limo was stocked up with water and Karen knew just when to let us get back into the limo to cool down. Both Karen and our driver were great - we had an absolute blast! We didn't have a large wedding or a reception so this was our wedding gift to ourselves - it was well worth it!

Our photos turned out beautiful - we were both very pleased with everything. I highly recommend Karen, whether you want a photo tour, or photography for your large wedding and reception. She's great, and her photos are as well!

Karen and her services are AWESOME. Our day was so exciting and now I have so many pictures of my sweetie and me. We had the 2.5 hour tour and I am looking forward to doing it again in the future -- hmmm would make a wonderful anniversary gift.

Want a great wedding day with wonderful pictures? Then book Karen NOW. Also Karen was so good about responding to my questions by emails and phone calls. >

We did the 1.5hr photo tour after our wedding on June the 2nd. We had a 12 person limo for us and our guests and it was fantastic.

Karen put us all at ease with her easygoing manner and jokes. All our guests thought she was wonderful.

Karen brought our photos to us the very next day and at a totally inconvenient time for her (10pm). They are absolutely fantastic and we better than I could have ever imagined.

I would not hesistate to recommend her.
